We circle up in Ceremony to root us in belonging
We circle up together not only to remember ourselves, but also to remember who we are to one another, and to the world. This circling—which seats your being in an embodied prayer—creates a level of commitment to yourself and others that deeply encourages you to live what you have come to this world to do. Ceremony is not separate from life. Instead, this experience to circle up has the purpose of evolving us and creating an outward effect in our lives. Our humanity, our kinship, and how we show up in the world to express these elements of ourselves. These are ignited when we sit in ceremony with one another.

Ceremony is also a chance to practice an embodiment of love, and to be able to receive the love that comes from being when we circle. In Ceremony, love is present, and we have access to it. The beauty and communion that can often seem like it’s missing currently in our society, can be tapped into in these sessions, and then carried forward into our daily lives.
The more you come to Ceremony, the more grounded and expansive you become. Ceremony is healing, grounding and offers a release from the “have to’s and obligations of life; centering you in Presence, Belonging and Other. Over time, as you return to Ceremony, the release of the false self allowing centering and engaging with The Divine Self. A place of Communion with self, nature and others, love is engages you and remembering who we are for one another becomes resolute.
Participants who commit to Ceremony regularly with me have experienced benefits such as:
- Being grounded in themselves
- More belonging and ease in the world
- A deepened connection to self and others
- An expanse in their intuition
- An internal discipline of being aligned with all beings in love and care.
The more frequently you come to Ceremony, the more grounded and expansive you become.
Ceremony is Crucial for These Current Times
These current times have brought a mixture of isolation, uncertainty and hope. How we navigate these elements together is crucial for the evolution of humanity.
The isolation that we all experienced in 2020, was a potential catalyst for our growth. In those times we experienced a true sense of how much we need each other. On the one hand, loneliness came when we were faced with being alone without choice. But on the other hand, the crisis that we collectively experienced showed us how we need each other. That sense we got of being there for one another is something we can harness and grow through regularly circling up together.
Similarly, there are poignant movements of our time that are calling for humanities evolution. From the BLM and #MeToo movements, to the protests around the killing of Mahsa Amini in Iran, all of these are a cry for evolving, and a signaling that we are ready to grow. And in these cries there is a sense that we need guidance moving forward. In Ceremony we can call in the divine and hear from a wisdom higher than our own on how to show up for evolution in these uncertain times for humanity.
Is Ceremony For You?
Ceremony is for you if you are not just looking for one-time experiences or quick fixes, but you are committed to going deeper within yourself. It’s a place where you are able to meet aspects of yourself that allow for the deepening of your internal knowing, while freeing yourself from elements that no longer serve you.
In addition, like many participants who attend, you may be looking for genuine community. In Ceremony you will find a loving, safe and expanding place where you are free to flow, without the restrictions of being taught or led.
Ceremony is a place where you are able to meet aspects of yourself that allow for the deepening of your internal knowing, while freeing yourself from elements that no longer serve you.
Ceremony is the spiritual practice of belonging to one another and the elemental natural world.
These teachings, are taken from Lakota on Navajo land, unite us with the purpose of belonging because we human. Because we are kin.
Circling is also a humbling environment. In order to come into something with humility you have to let go of the expectations of what you are going to get when you walk away, and most people who join us find this helpful. In a world where we are constantly promised end results, and pressured to conform so that we can achieve them, Ceremony invites us in without promise. We hear the prayer of communion and belonging. And we let ourselves be held, seen and loved.
When we feel this, when we taste it, it becomes our guiding power. Then in life, we start to wake up, and choose to exist from this power. We start to learn to embody it and choose it, even when someone is unkind to us in life.
From here, we can start to see the world through love, and your body becomes a lens for love. The mind and body come together and you are able to say: “I am going to stay in love even if I am scared and afraid.” You learn not to dismiss your feelings. Instead you are able to navigate your emotions, especially the ones that don’t serve you in the long haul.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ceremony is a gathering of people, you have selected, to support you in your next journey.
Ceremony is a naming of who and what you are stepping into.
Ceremony can include a celebration but not at all ceremonies are celebrations. For example, a Drying of the Tears ceremony for someone completing their grieving would offer a welcoming of a new way or life rather than celebration.
Typically it takes roughly four weeks or more.
Much of the timing will depend on two things:
- Climate (is it warm enough) and getting the best location.
- Working with your chosen family to prepare them in supporting you during and after the ceremony
Plan on booking several months in advance to ensure we have enough time to create your unique ceremony
If you are on the precipice of change, it’s time for a ceremony. You are giving proper attention to a moment in time to honor a becoming.
Set up a complementary 30 minute call or Zoom session discuss your intentions, goals and learn more about how ceremony works. This will allow us to see if we’re a good fit for one another.
You’ll start by having your 1:1 session with Melanie. From there, you’ll meet 3-5 times, over the phone or by Zoom to prepare. Melanie will work with your chosen family to help them understand their important roles and how they will support you (or the person going through ceremony). Each ceremony is unique and customized to your needs.
Cost varies depending on the type of ceremony + location.
Ceremony occurs outdoor in the elements, such as the forest, ponds or mountains. We gather in nature as our ancestors have always done to root ourselves into becoming and in communication with the beauty and wisdom of the elements.
